Special Needs Youth Ice Hockey Team Looking For New Players!
HOCKEY IS FOR EVERYONE
The New York Raptors is a special ice hockey program designed to bring the thrill of hockey to players of all abilities. The Raptors is one of about 50 US teams affiliated with American Special Hockey Association (ASHA). The team skates at the Westchester Skating Academy in Elmsford Sunday afternoons in the fall and winter.
Established in 1996, the NY Raptors hockey team is seeking players. All that’s required of each player is D-E-S-I-R-E.
The Raptors cater to those with developmental disabilities that keep them from playing on other community ice hockey teams. Special Hockey allows each player to achieve his/her/their goals on his/her/their own schedule.
Each player will learn how to: play the game, stickhandle a puck, pass, shoot, make a save and so much more. Best of all, each player is immediately and actively involved— participating in every practice and every game.
